About IIRS

Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS) under the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Department of Space, Govt. of India.

It is a prestigious Training and Educational Institute set up for developing trained professionals in the field of Remote Sensing, Geoinformatics and GNSS Technology for Natural Resources, Environmental and Disaster Management.

Formerly known as the Indian Photo-interpretation Institute (IPI), founded in 1966, the Institute boasts of being the first of its kind in entire South-East Asia. While nurturing its primary endeavour to build capacity among the user community by training mid-career professionals, the Institute has enhanced its capability and evolved many training and education programs that are tuned to meet the requirements of various target groups, ranging from fresh graduates to policymakers including academia.

IIRS also conducts an e-learning program on Remote Sensing and Geoinformation Science

About the ISRO Introduces FREE Certification Course

Ever since computer scientists gathered at Dartmouth conferences in 1956 and created the field of artificial intelligence, artificial intelligence has been ingrained in our imaginations and booming in research labs.

In the decades since then, knowledge has been heralded as the key to a brighter future in our world. Artificial intelligence is a program that perceives, thinks, acts and adapts. Machine learning is about algorithms that perform better when exposed to more data over time. Deep learning is a branch of machine learning where multilayer neural networks learn from large amounts of data.

Advances in data processing and data storage have made it possible to retrieve and analyze more data than ever before. Also, more data comes from more devices and machines that are connected to the Internet and more data is sent from these devices.

All these advances brought artificial intelligence closer to the original goal of creating intelligent machines, which we see every day. From recommendations on our best-selling websites to auto-generated image tags on social media, there are many simple things online that can be done with a smart touch.

The main deep learning applications for artificial intelligence can be divided into computer vision, natural language processing (NLP) and reinforcement.

This course introduces AI, ML and deep learning and data processing techniques with case examples for geospatial data processing. The course is scheduled from 19 to 24 August 2024.
